Gaslighting
I’ve had the pleasure of being gaslit. It’s when you know the truth and someone tells you something else. Former President Donald J Trump did this all the time. SharpieGate is the perfect example of this. The 2020 election is more complicated but it’s also a form of gaslighting. The person or people that do this want you to question yourself. Gaslighting does not and will not work on me. I was emotionally abused so I have decades of experiencing gaslighting to be aware when it’s being done. I’ve been through too much to view life as a jellyfish, with a nonexistent structure. Bring that mess somewhere else. Vulnerable people are especially susceptible to gaslighting. To be honest, anybody is vulnerable to it. Your insecurities are weaponized against yourself. Somebody else causes it but it’s really a form of self harm.
I don’t appreciate being told to not believe what I see with my own eyes. Stop letting bullies win. Bullies don’t just exist when you’re younger. Adults are bullies too. Why? Are you so miserable and insecure that the only way to not feel that way is to bully others? Hurt people hurt others.
There’s something that is called narcissistic injury and look out if that happens. People with narcissistic personality disorder love to gaslight. If a narcissist experiences a narcissistic injury he/she is really out of control. The injury that I’m most familiar with is when a person’s image of himself/herself is really challenged. A person really starts to get “crazy” if that happens. I don’t have a solution beyond getting far away from him/her because you can’t logically reason with him/her. Keyword “logically.”
