You gotta take the bad with the good
Why is it a common storyline where someone in a wheelchair or who is disabled walks again? It’s weird. Sometimes you’re just in a wheelchair and that’s fine. I’ve also noticed that only one type of disabled is really focused on…temporary disability and that’s just not realistic. There are all kinds and pigeonholing disability is short sighted. Don’t do that. I was completely cut off from any real self-reflection but I would be sorely remissed if I thought that was everybody’s experience with a brain tumor. I went through life like a really cutthroat competitive contestant on a reality show but I didn’t know it. That must’ve been hard for those around me but not hard enough to actually talk to me about it. It was impossible to “put me in my place” because I was completely disconnected from myself.
