Trapped

I was in my thirties without a care in the world. I was consistently falling and I would lose my balance.  I would often have double vision when watching t.v.. I passed out. I would randomly have no to little tolerance with alcohol (I know my limits.) Naturally, I googled my symptoms and a brain tumor came up. I immediately dismissed the possibility of a brain tumor because it was too dramatic.

I was passing out and I had these massive headaches. Turns out that a brain tumor was on my cerebellum. I had it surgically removed and everything changed. I could no longer walk or do anything really. Bam! I was in a wheelchair just like that. I had to relearn how to do everything. Among many things, I learned how to swallow, eat and drink. Being disabled and black is extremely hard in general and in this country especially.
