Being Right At All Costs

Being right is really really important in my family. No wonder I was an obnoxious child. To be wrong is like committing the worse sin. It’s the equivalent of killing somebody. My mother will intentionally do something that is wrong (that I suggested) just to prove that she is right. Being right is not a priority to me, I’d rather get somewhere faster than be right. I just think it’s dumb. I’ve had family members gently tell me I’m wrong. Again, I don’t care so just tell me I’m wrong. It’s annoying to pussyfoot around it. There’s a difference between being blunt and rude. I would much rather have someone be blunt with me then try to figure out what someone is saying.

However, if you come for/at me you better be right because I have no problem shutting you down. I’m an adult and I’ve been through a lot. Don’t even try it. You’re still the same person whether you’re disabled or not. That’s the weirdest part. Nothing except my ability to do “stuff” has been effected.
