Sinking Ship

 I’ve been trying to come to terms with my new reality. I have to remember that life isn’t over because I’m disabled. Right after my surgery, I was incredibly embarrassed. I think I was embarrassed that I was really messed up. I went for a run of the mill ct scan and ended up having a tumor surgically removed from my cerebellum. I wasn’t allowed to go home until seven months later. It was a big f-ing deal to me and I will not tolerate being told that it wasn’t (which has totally happened.)

I was put into a sub par nursing home. I’ve seen a lot so it’s with absolute certainty that I can say that the nursing home I was in was awful. I had a mantra that I would repeat (a mantra) to just get through it. I had brain cancer surgery and then I was put in a nursing home. I don’t want to go back but I’ll probably have to. I’m not going to think about it until it happens. I just can’t. It really was bad. It was also failing and a woman was put in charge. Do you notice that when a business is in trouble a woman is brought in? 

I do not want to develop the habit of constantly talking about my brain surgery. I’m more than my tumor. Back to women being put in charge of failing businesses. Like with a woman in charge magically everything would be fine. Being put in charge of a sinking ship is just ridiculous. Yes you’re in charge but the business is going down. It’s nothing to celebrate. A man destroyed the business and yet a woman is expected to save it. Women are just happy to be validated that they’ll even take a mess. How messed up is that? If Donald Trump were a woman I highly doubt that she would have been allowed to do half the stuff that Trump has done. Some orange man does it and it’s fine.

I’m in the position that I’m effected by policies and I absolutely hate politics. I wish I had the luxury to ignore politics but I don’t. I can’t believe that Roe v. Wade was overturned. It’s dumb to think that we really need politics involved in reproductive rights. All of my life abortion has been legal and I cringe to think about pregnant young women especially in the cases of rape and incest who aren’t legally allowed to get abortions. Don’t even get me started on sexual violence. I’m not okay with anything that the extreme part of the Republican Party is doing. I think it’s really important to respect the Republican Party even though I don’t agree with most of it. But to respect political violence is outrageous. Sorry not sorry.
