Tennis Balls?
Why are walkers made so that the back two legs drag? We just automatically put tennis balls on the back of walkers. It’s the 2020’s and tennis balls are the best we can do? Really? It’s not fun to hear a walker move across pavement. It’s not fun to see scuff marks from walkers on the floor. I just don’t understand why they’re made like that.
People are trying to walk and they don’t need to be distracted by scuff marks or loud noises. So why are they like that? I don’t use a traditional walker, but I sure do see them and hear them when I go to therapy. I’d hate to say that the walker is yet another example of the way that able bodied people mistreat the disabled. I’m not there yet but I’m fully on the way.
I have a rollater for moving around and a walker in front of the toilet. My bathroom is too small for my wheelchair to go into. Standing is a luxury and without it, I don’t think I could do much. Things could have been much worse and they’re pretty bad.
