Ignorance Isn’t Bliss
I view information like currency. You’re either rich or poor. When I first had a ct scan I was kept waiting and then I was sent to the ER. Nobody would tell me anything. I even asked the intake nurse in the ER and she wouldn’t tell me anything. I was finally told that I had a brain tumor. This was after hours of waiting.
When I went into the hospital I had to slyly ask a nurse what my diagnosis was. It was happening to me and I was the last to know what was going on. I was extremely poor. I recently saw a commercial where someone was told they have cancer over the phone! Something that big wouldn’t be conveyed over the phone.
I don’t like not knowing what is going on and my health is only part of the medical journey for doctors. It is very personal to me. I’m the one with cancer.
